Admiralty Izhora Plant (Izhorskiye Zavody) was established by Peter the Great imperial decree to meet the demands of Saint- Petersburg and the Baltic Navy in the course of construction and development. In the ensuing years - starting up the anchor and copper works, starting up of drawing iron and copper sheets, foundry, tool and turning shops, production of cast cannons.

1812

the first Russian dredge with steam engine rated 15HP was produced on order of the Admiralty. The dredger was manufactured as per the design of Augustin de Betancourt, a well-known engineer and architect, for execution of dredging work of Port of Kronstadt and Izhora River. The production output of Izhora dredger designed by Betancourt was 50 times higher than that of European dredgers.

1820 1950

Izhora Plant was in the forefront of the industrial development of a nation,supplying products for various industries: ships were built for Civilian Fleet and the Navy, armours, cannons, tanks, armoured fighting vehicles were manufactured for the Army; drilling machinery - for geologic exploration; diverse equipment was supplied for power engineering, metallurgy industry, chemical industry, transportation industry and etc.

1957

Izhorskiye Zavody started making shovels. Crawler-mounted shovels (EKG) with 4-15 m3 bucket capacity were designed and produced in order to maintain the developing mining industry of the state. The production of Izhora shovels was running in full swing: 66 items were manufactured as early as 1966, 94 items - in 1975, 133 items - in 1979, and 160 items were produced in 1986 .

1991

Izhorskiye Zavody - Heavy Mining Excavators (IZ-KARTEX) as a separate company was established on the basis of Izhorskiye Zavody excavator production facilities. IZ-KARTEX was focused upon manufacturing of mining equipment: excavators, rotary drilling rigs used for opencast mining operations.

1998

IZ-KARTEX was incorporated by United Heavy Machinery Group (ОМZ) which is the largest Russian heavy engineering holding company, specializing in production of equipment for nuclear power engineering, mining, metallurgical,petrochemical, chemical and other industries.

Since 2011 the Company has been named after Pavel Korobkov, former General Director, who came to a tragic end in motor accident.
